As marketers, we’re often responsible for planning and executing events in our organization. During these Zoom-filled, socially distant times, we’ve been especially challenged to make events inspiring and engaging. To help us navigate these challenges and to kick off our new virtual book club, we’ll be discussing the especially relevant The Art of Gathering: How We Meet & Why It Matters by Priya Parker.

This event will be led by ANA’s very own People Series Chair Ryann Greve, founder and chief strategist of Aarlin Consulting. We are also bringing in an awesome moderator who has real-world experience with event planning: Jenna Smith, Event Manager at ASQ, and similar past roles at Summerfest and Harley-Davidson.

About the Book & Author

Priya Parker is an expert on organizing successful gatherings and the host of the New York Times podcast Together Apart, Parker shares an exciting new approach to how we gather that will transform the ways we spend our time together—at home, at work, in our communities, and beyond.

Event Details

When & Where: Thursday, December 10 at 5:00 pm via Zoom

(link will be sent to all registrants prior to the event)

How to Prepare: We encourage you to read the book beforehand. Or, check out a summary, some YouTube videos, the podcast or other resources beforehand (Google will lead you to many options!).

Some level of prep will make the session more engaging and valuable. But, even if you aren’t able to read the book, we encourage you to attend. Consider it a virtual “CliffsNotes” (remember those?!) version.

Oh, and since it is a book club and during happy hour in Milwaukee, pour yourself a beverage too!

Free Gift for Early Registrants

As a special gift, we are also offering a free copy of the book to the first 4 registrants. Register early so you can get reading (for free)!
